In 86400, a single speaker plays an unedited 24-hour recording of an analogue clock in a city setting. Traffic, footsteps, voices and quiet gaps function as an index of a specific day. Played on a loop, the recording repeats this past as an acoustic present in the room. Within the installation, the day becomes the trace, while the clock’s regularity becomes a symbol of order without any display or measurement.
